Samsung has come out and made it official that the Galaxy Tab will be getting a refresh with the 7.7, a tablet we thought we had the first look at last week, only this one lacks the soft keys leaving it with Honeycomb. Upgrades include a 1.4GHz dual-processor and a big ol’ Super AMOLED Plus display, the first for any tablet.  This new Galaxy Tab 7.7 is just 7.89 millimeters thin and weighs only 335 grams (12 ounces).

It will come with Android 3.2, but as you can see from the picture above, TouchWiz UX will also be preloaded. 3MP camera on the back and 2MP cam on the front, and up to 10 hours of battery life if the reports are correct. I’m really liking the new brushed-metal back cover they’ve got going for this, anyone else excited to see smaller tablets making a come back?
