A ‘relaunch’ for Google TV is looking nearer and nearer everyday, first the leaks of Honeycomb for some of the devices and then the huge list of apps optimized for TV sneaking into the market. Now, the rumor is that TNT and TBS will require a log-in that has a link to a traditional TV account for the GTV apps to work.

Now, this isn’t really unheard of. Mobile apps like WatchESPN require you to log-in with a FiOS account so that you can stream things on there but it has never been mentioned around the area of GTV. But it sounds like this might be the only way that Google gets people to sign on to the service. It remains to be unseen though if what a “traditional TV service” means, and what TV providers will be supported.
