Well it is finally over, AT&T has ended their courtship of T-Mobile and the magenta carrier is finally allowed to live life without fear of being swallowed by Big Blue. As a parting gift of almost buying out their company, AT&T has agreed to give T-Mobile a consolation prize if you will of lots of things that really gives T-Mo a leg up that it didn’t have before.

FIrst off, T-Mo gets $3 billion in cash, which sounds like a lot but apparently all of that will go towards it’s debt with Duetsche Telekom. T-Mobile USA will not see a dime, for shame. The interesting part here is that AT&T will fork over the licences to some spectrum in 12 in the top 20 markets. T-Mo also gets a 7-year roaming deal on AT&T’s network that is said to increase their coverage from 230 million to 280. This seems to have come out pretty nice for T-Mo in the end. Where does the carrier go from here?
