So first we hear that the Sony Ericsson Nozomi is being tested and handed around across the Pacific. Next we hear that Sony is lining up a very high-end smartphone to launch on AT&T later next year, with an announcement at CES sure to come. Finally, today we get a trademark filing that says Sony wants to use the name “Ion” for one of their new phones. Could the Nozomi/LT28AT be launching on AT&T under that name?

Just to run down the specs one more time, the device is rumored to have a 4.55″ screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. It apparently has a 13MP camera on the back which would pair nicely with the device’s dedicated camera button on the side. Oh, and it has a 1.5GHz processor to fly through all those apps for you. Only question left is, will Sony launch it with Ice Cream Sandwich?
