The word on Carrier IQ is that the most recent update that was pushed out over the last few days to Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D wiped the not-so-popular software off the phone. A spokesman for HTC has confirmed to the Verge today, that they are not going to stop there:
HTC can confirm that we’re working with Sprint to provide maintenance releases that will remove Carrier IQ and provide security enhancements and bug fixes beginning in January.
According to this statement, lots of phones on Sprint are going to be receiving attention from both companies to make sure people feel secure when using their devices. Nice to see Sprint sticking to their word when they previously stated that they would put an end to their use of the software.
