AT&T Lighting Up 3 New LTE Markets On April 8, 4G Rollout Continues Onward

AT&T is playing catch up in the race to cover the country in 4G LTE airwaves but they are working pretty hard. They recently announced that 3 new cities will be enjoying the fast download speeds on their phones, should they have an LTE device. On April 8 these new markets will be going live:

Bloomington, IN
Muncie, IN
Bryan-College Station, TX

Why these cities you ask? These are all fairly big college cities, housing lots of impressionable tech-savvy students with lots of money to put towards things other than their education.

To be honest, I’m giving good thought to switching to AT&T when my contract with Verizon ends. I’m tired of Verizon controlling every phone release and software update so strictly. I’d like the ability to just take a GSM phone and slip a SIM card in it and have it work. Just hope that AT&T’s LTE coverage eventually rivals Big Red’s.

  Yeah it wont rival big red. I have a friend who is on ATT and he has a LTE phone on them and is in an LTE are and he says it is super slow. He gets full bars in 4G and gets maybe 3mbps download and slow upload too

    Shit, try being on Sprint and check out those damn DL speeds. I just got out of my contract because of it and looking to switch. I’m torn between AT&T and Verizon. 4G isn’t that important to me, but coverage and the phone are. I really wish Verizon had a phone I loved. That would make my decision easy, but I really don’t like any of what they have to offer… I am holding out for the HTC One on AT&T unless someone has some insight on a great phone coming to Verizon…

      ATT needs to take some of that cash they were going to buy t-mobile with and freaking build more towers and beef up their network. They can’t even keep 3g connections solid, how the f#$k are they going to say they have 4g when they don’t even have a true lte, hspa is not 4g, just because they lie doesn’t make it true, “F” ATT.
