An email came to us this morning that Amazon Wireless is running a special deal for Sprint customers now. The “Sprint Through Spring” deal is offering up top-dollar Sprint phones for only a penny if you are upgrading to a new 2-year contract. The Galaxy SII Epic Touch 4G, HTC EVO Design 4G and even the Nexus S 4G are all on sale if you are getting a new contract, which sounds fantastic.
The problem is the “4G” here is WiMAX, the wavelengths that are being phased out by LTE in the near future. Sprint seems to be clearing out the warehouse of the old tech before the launch of the new one. If you aren’t planning on getting on the LTE train anytime soon than by all means this sale is right up your alley, but we would be remiss as an Android website not to point that out.
